OK, hear me out.
I am not saying don’t ever take probiotics. In fact, I am currently taking a couple of different probiotics every day.
What I am saying is if you just randomly take a daily probiotic, and you never mix up the strain, then you can create some serious problems with gut dysbiosis.
You are far better off taking a prebiotic as a daily supplement, because that doesn’t cause one strain of gut bacteria to become too dominant like a probiotic can.
Then you save the probiotics to target deficiencies found in stool testing (which is why I'm currently taking a short course of different strains) or during and after antibiotics. Just make sure whenever you are taking them, you mix up the strains so that you don’t create imbalances in your gut microbiome!
