Are You A Fixed Or Growth Mindset? Take the test!

According to researcher and author Carol Dweck, there are 2 types of mindsets (or beliefs about ourselves). The growth mindset, and the fixed mindset.
How do you know which one you fall into? Well, ask yourself these 10 questions, and next week we will reveal what the answers mean and explain both mindsets and how you can use them to your advantage.

Do you believe:
  • You are either born with talent, or you're not?
  • That the majority of successful people are lucky, or born with the right genetics, or born into the right family?
  • There is such a thing as a child prodigy?
  • That no matter how much you practice, there's just certain things you will NEVER be good at?
  • That if you are good at something then success should come easily?
  • That you should always try to avoid criticism?
  • That if you find something difficult, you are probably just not talented enough to succeed at it?
  • The more you fail at something, the less likely that you will ever achieve it?
  • That in life you should stick to things that are comfortable and safe, and avoid taking risks?
  • The older we get, the harder it is to learn new skills or behaviors?

Keep score of how many times you answered Yes vs No. Next week we will reveal what your score means and how you can use it to help you!

Chiropractic And Injury Prevention

As research performed in the last few decades has shown, Chiropractic is known to change & improve various aspects of nervous system function, including motor control, brain reaction times, and brain cognitive processing (the speed with which our brain processes information). So, it makes sense that if any of these areas are lacking then you should be at greater risk for injury, especially when we are talking low back injuries (due to how important brain control is over the vitally important spinal muscles). We know that if you can’t activate your trunk and core muscles before rapidly moving an arm, this can potentially result in a strain or sprain of the low back. This is known as the feed forward mechanism - if our spine doesn't first stabilize properly before we move our limbs then we greatly increase our risk of injury at the spinal level. These injuries usually start as microscopic injuries that we don't even notice but like everything else they continue to b...

Is it safe to crack your own neck?

If you can "crack" your own neck and back, then do you need to bother seeing a Chiropractor? And, is it safe to do this to yourself? The reality is when a Chiropractor locates a part of your spine that is restricted there is a lot more specifics to it than just a "stuck" joint. The joint has lost its normal flexibility in certain directions, and there will also be a disturbance created to the nerves that pop out from the spine at that location. When a Chiropractor adjusts your spine, we are applying just the right amount of force in the specific direction necessary to get that joint mobile again. This will also essentially create a reboot of the nervous system, just like when you reboot your computer with a forced close because it keeps freezing. The reason we have to be so specific is that the joints above and below the "stuck" joint begin to move more to compensate for the lack of movement (our body is extremely clever like that), and we only wan...

Chiropractic And Risks - Can An Adjustment Actually Cause A Stroke?

There is constantly false information being spread about Chiropractic. But the reality is we have a safety record that is the envy of all other health and medical professions. Perhaps the most dangerous false myth is that Chiropractic care can, in rare circumstances cause a particular type of stroke involving the arteries in the neck. However the research completely contradicts this. We spend this short episode explaining the truth! Check out this episode!
