The Platinum Rule

The Platinum Rule

The Golden Rule: Treat others how you wish to be treated is very familiar to us. Although the intentions of this rule are good, it seems odd to think that everyone wants to be treated the same way that you do.

We are all unique and connect in different ways. For instance, some may like to receive information in quick bullet points while others prefer it more detailed.

Let us introduce the Platinum Rule: Treat others how they want to be treated.

When we butt heads with others in our relationships whether it is with friends, family or co-workers, it is usually because you are both processing what is being said differently. The message being conveyed all relies on whoever is delivering it.

If someone does not understand you or they are frustrated or get offended, brainstorm how they may receive the message better. You will get to know the people who surround you better because you are constantly trying to figure out how they work and why they do what they do.

The world could be a better place if we all make a better effort at understanding how others like to be treated. Adapt to those around you instead of bulldozing through your days being exactly how you are and expecting others to cater to you. Decrease the conflict in your life and begin creating positive connections with people!

Chiropractic And Injury Prevention

As research performed in the last few decades has shown, Chiropractic is known to change & improve various aspects of nervous system function, including motor control, brain reaction times, and brain cognitive processing (the speed with which our brain processes information). So, it makes sense that if any of these areas are lacking then you should be at greater risk for injury, especially when we are talking low back injuries (due to how important brain control is over the vitally important spinal muscles). We know that if you can’t activate your trunk and core muscles before rapidly moving an arm, this can potentially result in a strain or sprain of the low back. This is known as the feed forward mechanism - if our spine doesn't first stabilize properly before we move our limbs then we greatly increase our risk of injury at the spinal level. These injuries usually start as microscopic injuries that we don't even notice but like everything else they continue to b...
