Do Liver Cleanses Work?

If you search for liver cleanses or detoxes online, you’ll find thousands of articles and videos promoting the next best thing to “clean out your liver.” But do these actually work?

The answer is, it depends on what result means it has “worked.”

If your drainage pathways are blocked and you’re dealing with chronic illness, then you’re not going to get your liver working perfectly and fix your health issues after a 3 day liver cleanse.

In the case of chronic illness, you need to support your liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and overall drainage pathways for a long period of time while attacking the root cause or causes to get true healing.

But, that doesn’t mean that some short term options aren’t useful. For example, I really like “The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush” by Andreas Moritz for people who are clearly blocked up with liver stones, or parasites such as flukes, and aren’t able to open any drainage pathways.

That effective liver flush will hopefully clear out the main blockage and allow you to get back to healing. But it alone is far from what you’ll need to fully heal!

Chiropractic And Injury Prevention

As research performed in the last few decades has shown, Chiropractic is known to change & improve various aspects of nervous system function, including motor control, brain reaction times, and brain cognitive processing (the speed with which our brain processes information). So, it makes sense that if any of these areas are lacking then you should be at greater risk for injury, especially when we are talking low back injuries (due to how important brain control is over the vitally important spinal muscles). We know that if you can’t activate your trunk and core muscles before rapidly moving an arm, this can potentially result in a strain or sprain of the low back. This is known as the feed forward mechanism - if our spine doesn't first stabilize properly before we move our limbs then we greatly increase our risk of injury at the spinal level. These injuries usually start as microscopic injuries that we don't even notice but like everything else they continue to b...
