5 things you MUST do if you suffer from allergies

It's that time of year again. Spring! While everyone else is excited, you dread the suffering. You know your sinus cavities are going to swell up, your eyes will water, you will constantly be sniffing, and just generally feel miserable. It's allergy time of year again!

The good news is you have far more options than just reaching for the over the counter drugs, which may provide temporary relief but also increase the toxic load on your body.

So what else can you do? Any, or preferably ALL of the following:

1. Neti Pot - helps clear out the irritants from the nasal passages which cause most of your allergy symptoms. Filtered or distilled water  is best to use because the chemicals in normal tap water like Fluoride and Chlorine will actually irritate your immune system and often make your symptoms worse!

2. Frankincense or Eucalyptus Essential Oils - Diffuse them in your house. Rub them on your chest and behind your ears. They will help boost your immune system, decrease your symptoms, and have been shown to even kill a lot of house and dust mites when you diffuse them.

3. Watch your diet - Sugar destroys your immune system. And a low immune system means less ability for your body to fight off the allergens. The following things will increase your body's ability to fight off the allergies: Apple Cider Vinegar, Raw honey (make sure it is fresh and organic as most store bought honey is fully loaded with sugars), and anything with Quercetin in it (green vegetables, onions, citrus fruits, and green teas)

4. Probiotics and Vitamin D3 - 80% of our immune system is controlled by the bacteria in our gut. So you want to make sure you load up your stomach with good bacteria every day. Vitamin D3 is the number one supplement you can take to increase your body's immune strength.

5. Get adjusted by a Chiropractor - A Chiropractic adjustment will help in many ways: It will increase your immune system function; it regulates your body's release of histamine and cortisol (excess release of these increases your symptoms and reaction); it helps your sinus cavities and ears drain more effectively; and it will improve your ability to cough out anything from your lungs.

Don't suffer from seasonal allergies this spring. Take control of your health so that you can enjoy the beautiful weather and be outdoors without dreading the consequences.

Please share this with all the allergy sufferers that you know, and if you need any further advice check out our allergy videos on our youtube page, or contact us via our website, or leave a question below.

Chiropractic And Injury Prevention

As research performed in the last few decades has shown, Chiropractic is known to change & improve various aspects of nervous system function, including motor control, brain reaction times, and brain cognitive processing (the speed with which our brain processes information). So, it makes sense that if any of these areas are lacking then you should be at greater risk for injury, especially when we are talking low back injuries (due to how important brain control is over the vitally important spinal muscles). We know that if you can’t activate your trunk and core muscles before rapidly moving an arm, this can potentially result in a strain or sprain of the low back. This is known as the feed forward mechanism - if our spine doesn't first stabilize properly before we move our limbs then we greatly increase our risk of injury at the spinal level. These injuries usually start as microscopic injuries that we don't even notice but like everything else they continue to b...

How To Manage Acid Reflux

The combination of heartburn, GERD, and acid reflux together are one of the most common health issues in the world. This means they’re also one of the most commonly medicated groups of health issues. But, is the approach to treating acid reflux correct? Is it actually due to too much stomach acid, or is diet and lifestyle a bigger issue? In this episode I examine what the research actually shows about lifestyle, medications, and acid reflux! Check out this episode!

To get surgery or to not get surgery... That is the question!

In this episode we have created our first mash-up. We have taken some clips from our more popular Facebook live videos to give you a ton of information in one short audio format. We discuss disc injuries; when you should and shouldn't get cortisone injections or spinal surgery; when to get knee surgery; what to do for carpal tunnel (and again when to get surgery) and loads more. We hope you enjoy this episode! And if you do, please don't hesitate to tell your friends and family to subscribe to our show! And as always, thanks for your attention. Check out this episode!
