What Most People Don't Know When It Comes To Being Healthy

There is so much conflicting information around how to treat or prevent COVID-19 - from what to take prophylactically to which drug treatment or other medical method is best once you’re ill, to whether masks and vaccines work or don’t work.

Well the good news, actually great news, is this - the one thing that cannot be disputed is your risk of serious symptoms from COVID-19 (or any contagious illness for that matter) drops dramatically when you’re metabolically healthy.

Health professionals even get confused sometimes, so how is anyone else supposed to know what to do? It can make your head spin.

You also greatly decrease your risk of dealing with any of the big 3 killers in the western world - cardiovascular disease, cancer, and medical/pharmaceutical error. Ironically, any 3 of these are far deadlier, and place far more people at risk than all of the respiratory illnesses put together!

What does it mean to be metabolically healthy? All of your body systems and organs are working at or very close to their optimal function.

How do you know if you classify as metabolically healthy? If you “pass” all of the following metrics and tests, then you’re metabolically healthy. If you fail just one of them, then you’re classified as metabolically unhealthy and your risk goes up exponentially as you increase the number of “failed” categories:

  • Waist circumference of less than 40 or 36 inches for men and women respectively

  • A fasting glucose of less than 100 milligrams per deciliter

  • Hemoglobin A1c of less than 5.7

  • A systolic blood pressure less than 120

  • A diastolic blood pressure less than 80

  • Triglycerides less than 150

  • HDL of greater than 40 for men and 50 for women

Back in 2016, the stats showed that only 12.2% of people met that criteria. That means 87.8% of people are metabolically unhealthy. We know that number has worsened over the last 4 years and would more likely be above 90% of Americans being metabolically unhealthy as of 2021.

The next time you read a headline that’s creating doom and gloom around COVID-19 deaths, just know that you have the power to control whether you or your family are at risk by making sure you’re all metabolically healthy.

Imagine how our world would look if everyone knew this info and how to apply it so that our community could be so healthy that we wouldn’t even be entertaining the thoughts of lockdowns or mask wearing, and we absolutely wouldn’t be in a position where we have to decide on taking an experimental vaccine because no one would need any of those measures!

Chiropractic And Injury Prevention

As research performed in the last few decades has shown, Chiropractic is known to change & improve various aspects of nervous system function, including motor control, brain reaction times, and brain cognitive processing (the speed with which our brain processes information). So, it makes sense that if any of these areas are lacking then you should be at greater risk for injury, especially when we are talking low back injuries (due to how important brain control is over the vitally important spinal muscles). We know that if you can’t activate your trunk and core muscles before rapidly moving an arm, this can potentially result in a strain or sprain of the low back. This is known as the feed forward mechanism - if our spine doesn't first stabilize properly before we move our limbs then we greatly increase our risk of injury at the spinal level. These injuries usually start as microscopic injuries that we don't even notice but like everything else they continue to b

Chiropractic And Risks - Can An Adjustment Actually Cause A Stroke?

There is constantly false information being spread about Chiropractic. But the reality is we have a safety record that is the envy of all other health and medical professions. Perhaps the most dangerous false myth is that Chiropractic care can, in rare circumstances cause a particular type of stroke involving the arteries in the neck. However the research completely contradicts this. We spend this short episode explaining the truth! Check out this episode!
